I didn't do a great job journaling our last adoption, so this is my attempt to do better this time!
May 10th- Agency approval to start another adoption
May 17th- Paperwork started
May 24th- First homestudy meeting, fingerprinting and filled out the application for the agency we are hoping to matched through!
May 31st- DeLainey's and Julianne's physical appointments
June 1st- Homestudy visit #2 (the home visit)
June 2nd- First lead about an adoption situation- not for us :(
June 5th- Brandon's fingerprint card returned to the agency approved. Stephanie's was lost!
June 6th- Profile book completed and ordered. Brandon's and Stephanie's physical appts. Stephanie's fingerprinting cards were FOUND and approved!
June 8th- Profile book delivered.
June 9th- Saw the first rough copy of our homestudy.
June 10th- Solomon's and Xander's physical appointments. Physicals turned in. We are done with our portion of the paperwork!
June 13- Saw our homestudy report again. A few corrections need made. :) Getting close! Should be final this week!
June 16th- Homestudy APPROVED. Faxed to an agency that specializes in matching children with special needs.
June 20th- Contacted by international adoption agency about a child we inquired about in December.
June 21st- Homestudy was sent to the agency we used for Xander's adoption. Called our homestudy agency to see about changing our homestudy to international. Sent questions to international agency.
June 26th- Sent our information in for two adoption situations with two different agencies and two different states. We'll call them SB and MD. Immediately got requests for our profile to be sent in.
July 1st- Found out that we were not matched with MD.
July 4th- Received an email advocating for a Baby Girl in New Jersey from another adoptive parent. Researched and sent in our homestudy.
July 6th- Received an email back saying they were trying to keep Baby Girl in state but would keep our homestudy just in case. I asked if I could send the electronic copy of our profile page.
July 8th- Received an update on SB. Decided that this isn't a situation we want to pursue. (Due to privacy issues, I can't say much more.)
July 13th- Received an email scheduling a phone call to discuss Baby Girl.
July 14th- Phone call took place with Baby Girl's agency. Sent in release of information so our homestudy agency can speak with the NJ agency.
July 20th- MATCHED with Baby Girl... our Annalise Hila!
August 9-10- Visited Annalise.
September 10- Realized that Annalise would not be joining our family.
